Mary Needham

As well as being inspired by the shapes, patterns and colours found in  the environment, I aim to represent the universal patterns and structures found in many animate subjects;  I am interested in the relationships these have with mathematical sequences. 

I often work with an ambiguity of scale, to make work involving a variety of different processes, often combining them to make a layered print.

The idea of ‘Looking through’ one layer to reveal another is often present in my work.
