Virginia Lee

Artist, illustrator and sculptor of mythic meanderings over transformational terrain and through seasonal symbology.
Born in Devon, I had an early urge to draw and sculpt things of a surreal and fantastical nature. This led me to study Art and Design at Exeter College and a degree in Illustration at Kingston University. Shortly after graduation, I was fortunate enough to work as a sculptor for the Lord of the Rings trilogy in New Zealand, creating architectural details, fountains and statues for the sets. When the films production finished, I went on to sculpt highly detailed, collectible wall plaques of scenes from the films.
Now, I divide my time between Chagford, Dartmoor and West Sussex, mainly focusing on Illustration works for children’s books, plus painting and sculptures for exhibitions.
